In my family's gift exchange this Christmas, I have drawn my cousin's name. Not only is he a serious wino, he's even more crazy for Scotch. He's specifically asked about scotch glasses, but I'm not sure what to get.

What are your favorite glasses for Scotch?

We spent a good bit of time in the Scottish Highlands this past summer. Assuming you don't want a quaich, the glass style used in Speyside was the Glencairn glass. That's the way single malts were served in the Highlands. We brought two home with us.

Whichever is closest. A simple tumbler usually. I do have some Edinburgh Crystal but I rarely use it as it can't go in the dishwasher.
I use the glencairn as well for "proper" tasting, a bit on the smaller side but can't be beat for funneling the nose of the scotch.
