Hi, friends, I just bought a leg of authentic acorn-fed Iberian ham online and was wondering what the best wine would be to accompany it at the table.

Any suggestions?

Sherry.  Fino or Manzanilla.  Trust me on this.

I just re-read the OP.  You bought a LEG?  10+ pounds?  Sorry Gaspar, but my BS detector is starting to tingle...  If you have the wherewithal to buy $4k plus of one of the rarest hams on the planet and are posting here for suggestions on what to drink with it, methinks you are a bit full of it.  Please feel free to correct me.  I'm easy...

Leaving aside the question of whether the OP is BS, I like the Fino Sherry suggestion.

Certain aged Spanish whites like LdH Tondonia would also work. Also, aged Pinot-dominated Champagne.

If you wanted to serve red, traditional aged Rioja, again, like LdH, would work, as would Cru Beaujolais.

could be ITB, resto owner looking for some online somm tips =)

I will add that food/wine pairing is an after thought still for most people.

But, I'm in the barsac category.  I like a bit more sweetness when i'm  having something salty

I bought a leg for a birthday party for my wife a few years ago. It does happen.

My view is aged LdH white is the perfect pairing.
