Wine buddies in Cleveland area

I recently moved to Beachwood from Houston, Texas. I am a wine collector and looking to meet up with others for tastings or dinners. Are there any "wine groups" here in the Cleveland area? In Houston I was part of a group of about 12-14 who were avid wine collectors. We would get together once a month for a dinner (at a restaurant) with blind tastings of different wines (ie 2000 CA Cab; Rhone v the world Syrah, etc). Any one intested here?

Darrell, I am in the Warren/Youngstown area so only about 50 minutes from Beachwood. I know there are some drinkers up that way, don't know if there are any regular groups.

I would be interested in sharing a bottle or two in the near future, my email is
pespos7508 at aol dot com

Send me an email and we can try and get together sometime.

You could do worst than just sitting down with him and a couple bottles.

You have to go all the way to worst to have a less enjoyable time than sharing bottles with patespo? That's harsh! Razz

Was hoping that was a typo Eek

So I've been watching these forums for a while and it is a shame to see how difficult it can be to get some offline tastings under way. You know what would be awesome? If there was a platform dedicated to creating and finding offline wine tastings. Where people can create a tasting and it can be seen publicly, and those who are interested can request to join, and the host decides who and how many can join. Maybe everyone can see via facebook connectivity who of their friends are on the platform. Then they can decide what the theme will be and everyone brings a bottle within the price range the host decides. And everyone can share wine knowledge and experience new wines. Then they can pass that knowledge on to others at the next tasting. And these tastings can be at peoples homes or in restaurants or other venues, depending on everyone's preference. If there was such a platform, every wine lover could find their tribe, collectors like Darrell could find other collectors and get some serious tastings going, students could form study groups and sommeliers can host guided tastings for anyone to come and expand their horizons. Oh wait. There is. Enos Tastings. It's new, very very new, so invite your friends when you get there and before you know it you'll have many tastings to choose from whenever you want.
