WINE BARS

This reminds me -- has anyone been to the Bubble Lounge in NYC (or SF - it appears from the website there's one)? I saw the listing on citysearch.

It seems like it has the potential to be either cool or awful...

We actually had an event (a Queer Eye 'watching party' for an episode that featrued Pol Roger) at the Bubble Lounge on Tuesday night.

I enjoy the place, but then again, I've only been there for events, never as a private citizen. I do like the downstairs cave, and it's also the place where I learned how to saber a bottle of bubbly.

We expect you to demonstrate, Keith.

I'd love to saber a bottle again; sadly, I'm lacking a saber at present.

I've been told that you can do it with the blunt end of a chef's knife, but the one time I attempted that, all I succeeded in was producing a lot of clanging sounds and making everyone around me quite nervous.

We'll watch from a safe distance.
