There has to be some other James Bond fans out there. I am just curious, who do you has played the James Bond role the best.

1. Sean Connery. Without a doubt the best Bond by far. At 6'2" 200+ pounds and being an excellent actor, he by far made the role most believable of any of them.

2. Pierce Brosnan. His first Bond movie was okay, but he get better each movie.

3. George Lazenby. The most underrated Bond of all.

I have never been a Roger Moore fan, too wimpy to make the role believable.

I have no idea what you are talking about. It must be a generational thing.

That is not a generational comment. For the love of God, rent The Return of the Pink Panther!!!

A Shot in the Dark and The Revenge of the Pink Panther are also both brilliant, but Return is the best. Big Grin

Ah, Peter Sellers... SUCH a genuis...

That said, as to the initial question:

1- Sean Connery
2- Daniel Craig

3- Pierce Brosnan

4- Timothy Dalton
5- George Lazenby
6- Roger Moore

But, Daniel Craig was the best actor of the bunch. And, the spaces between 2 and 3 and between 3 and 4 signify big differences in quality, imo.
Sean Connery was the best Bond. The only other argument is who was the second best. But the better question is who is the best Bond girl.

OffNotes, your suggestion is pretty good, the best Bond girl has to to be ***** Galore (played by Honor Blackman). Although before my time, she was still hot and what better name for a Bond girl. Ironically (after doing a little research), the character was a lesbian in Fleming's book.

Honorable mentions go to Honey Rider (Ursula Andress, Dr. No), Solitaire (Jane Seymore, Live and Let Die), Jinx (Halle Berry, Die Another Day).
Fun thread - until the most recent movie I would have said Sean Connery (before he got too old to play the part)- no competition at all.

Personally, I did not like Pierce Brosnan at all in the role and stopped seeing the movies because of him.

Roger Moore was probably the first James Bond i ever saw as I think Moonraker was the first Bond Movie I ever saw. Clearly inferior, but the movies were fun.

With only one movie under his belt, it is hard to rank Daniel Craig. With that said, I thought his performance was excellent, reinvigorated a dying brand and showed enormous potential.

'Nuff said. Cool

Good point. I wouldn't want to cross either Connery (even now!) or Craig.

I wouldn't be too worried if it were Brosnan, Dalton, or Lazenby.

And Moore? I'd just have to distract him with a blow-dryer and a mirror.

Lazenby was an Australian Special Forces soldier and an unarmed combat instructor. I bet he could beat all of them.
