Mavbabe and I will be in Montreal next weekend and I was wondering what would be a good restaurant to go to on either Friday or Saturday night.

Was thinking of going out and having some dinner and fun at the Time Supper Club and having a really good meal on the other night.

Was wondering if you can bring your own wine to restuarants there as well?

Any help would be appreciated

Interesting choice of Time. I've been there a few times, but not lately. Fellow forumite Escape was running the place until he moved about 18 months ago. The food was excellent and he kept a good wine list. Not sure how either are now. If he sees this he might be able to update. It sounds like you are aware that the place transforms from restaurant into nightclub at around 11:00 pm.

As for BYO, be aware that not all restaurants allow it. Only ones with specific BYO licenses are allowed to. The good thing about this is zero corkage. The bad thing is that there is a more limited choice, but the recommendations made above should be more than enough for your weekend stay.
We always enjoy L'Express, especially for lunch, moderately priced bristo, wine list is well chosen and fairly priced for Canada - attracts a sophisticated, artsy Montreal crowd 3827 Rue St. Denis.
There's a Portugese restaurant downtown, I believe on Rue Peel, Ferreira, extensive listing of Portugese wines - they also have a cafe thats nice for breakfast or quick lunch
BU, is quite nice for the wine, they have a decent wine list and the prices are very affordable.
They also have several tasting flights of three wines by the glass, gives you a good impression of a region or producer. And the list changes every week.
The food is good, the menu consists mostly of "TAPAS" that are very tasty and they have two main dishes that are ok. It is mostly a wine bar that serves light dishes for the hungry.
A nice place to go before or after a movie or play.
