Hi guys (and gals),

This is my first post so maybe you can help me out. I'm having some of my buddies over tonight to watch the Kimbo Slice fight on CBS while our wives are watching Sex and the City.

I've made a big batch of meatballs and marinara sauce for some sandwiches and I'm wondering what types of wine would best match this. I had a hunkering to open some 2005 California Zinfandel, but would love to hear your feedback on this.

Thanks!

Welcome...a nice tangy chianti Frown

...or beer !
Good event. The Caruso fight was definately the FOTN. They stopped the fight early, IMO. Glad to see that Kimbo has some Skillz on the ground. He'll need more of them when he gets quality opponents. He seems a little vulnerable in the guard, and he could have used his knees better. Man, he's fun to watch, one scary dude.

I finished off a 2003 Eaglepoint Petite Sirah that had been in the decanter for a couple of days. Good stuff, a bit raw, ragged, in need of ageing. Perfect pairing.
