I know there's a "What are you listening to" thread, but sometimes when we're not even hearing any music, there's that tune you can't seem to get out of your head.

Sadly, for me today it's Jewel'S Foolish Games. Bang

LOL A frequent earworm of mine, too. My 3 year old walks around the house singing either this or the Thomas theme song all day long.

Those two along with Peppa Pig and Toopy & Binoo.

We've got big TVs with BNN and Bloomberg on all the time at the office and there is a car commercial of some sort with Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus". Every time I manage to get it out of my head the bloody commercial plays again...

Thankfully I have a fool proof method of getting rid of earworms. You just have to have a safety song that when you put that in your mind wipes out the other, yet it is one that doesn't stick in your mind. I've trained myself to use Tina Turner's "We don't need another hero". By the time I get to the end of the children's chorus the other song is gone and that song doesn't stick in my head. It's saved me a lot of pain and suffering.
Rock Steady by Bad Company.

It's an old classic, and I guess I never appreciated what a great piece of music it was, but now I can't get the darn thing out of my brain.

They had a good number of really awesome songs for a fairly short career. Shooting Star is probably my favorite. Oops, sorry for the thread drift!

The sound of one hand clapping-

I wish. I've got an internal soundtrack going about any time I'm not asleep or engaged in external or internal dialog, even sometimes when I'm listening to other music. Most of it I don't recognize, just a mash up of anything I may have heard anywhere, anytime.

The best way to shut it off is to listen to good classical music or jazz. Pop music just makes me turn up the internal volume.
Meglio stasera has been in my head all day long. Love the song.

Who is the first person who can name where the song is from without looking it up?
Forgot about this thread, but how appropriate this morning as "Electric Avenue" keeps kicking around in my head. Heard it for a split second as I was flipping through XM channels but it stuck. Dammit...
This morning it was "What You Won't Do for Love" by Bobby Caldwell, but after the morning commute it changed to "Holding On for Life" by Broken Bells.

Heard about Allen Toussaint's passing, and now I can't get "On Your Way Down" out of my head.

"Vintage wine from the year '62. It's your thing, it's your thing, it's what pleases you."

"The same people you misuse on your way up, you might meet up on your way down."
"No One is to Blame" by Howard Jones. British Gold from the 80's...came on the radio yesterday....woke up with it in my head and it hasn't stopped all day. Help me.
