Would be sipping some Van Winkle 13 Year Rye but my bottle couldn't be found at the store...I'll check tomorrow.
I guess what I did tonight could be considered sacrilege. I've never done anything like this before, but I had just a little Macallan 18 left in the bottle. I poured it into a Glencairn Glass and then added an equal amount of Lagavulin 16 and a few drops of water. It was excellent!
NolanE and Jorge - how are those respective spirits (assuming you've tasted the rye before, Nolan)?
I've had the Rye in a Sazerac, but not straight up. It was fantastic though.
The Bourbons are also fantastic, and I appreciate the fact that they're not overpriced compared to the competition. The 12 year runs just under $50 here.

Last of the bottle of Basil Haden before holiday party last night

I do this all the time Board-O...I used 3 and 4 different single malts before...and yes..I dont admit too often but it is quite tasty! I use a little dab of water as well...helps bring the flavors out more IMO.
Tonight: Hendrix Gin Martini with 2 olives.
I'm glad I'm not the only reprobate!

Point taken. I'm so ashamed.

Just a little Aberfeldy as I watch the Ducks spank the Bruins. For the price this is one of my go-to single malts

Which year are you drinking? Always interested in "discount" single malts.

It'not THAT bad, such mixtures of distilleries exist in the real world, under the name of vatted Whisky.

Just the 12 year. I found it a couple years ago at a local chain for like $37 and thought what the heck, then saw it was from Dewar's and got curious. I'm not sure if Dewar's has always owned it or if it was a purchase like Guinness and Smithwicks, and honestly haven't done the research to find out. The are others I prefer but for the price I always have some on hand.
As far as i know, Aberfeldy plays the most important role in Dewars Whiskey blends. Aberfeldy distillery is fun to visit, especially "Dewars World of Whiskey".
GRAY GOOSE
Just a wee nip of Cragganmore 12.
Pappy (or I guess just "Van Winkle") 12 yr on hold. Pumped.
El Dorado Rum 12 Year Old - From Guyana I believe. I always enjoy this and find it to be quite a good value
JW Blue with Cohiba Esplendido from 98'

TPE, I never was either until visiting two Tequila houses a little over a year ago wheen in Mexico. I love the stuff now. If you like a little more barrel influence, I reccomend Herradura Anejo. About $45 in my market. Also, I think Espolon is a fantastic value Reposado under $20.

reading your post i managed to get drunk, contract an STD, throw up all over my keyboard, develop severe irritability towards light (both natural and artificial), and adopt a family of ferrets in need of rescue.
thanks.

LMAO!
Glenmorangie 12 Quinta Ruban. Loving the coconut flavors at the end it gets from port barrels. It helps that it's colder than ass outside.
After I give a lecture this evening Im hoping to stop into a local steak house/bar and have a glass or two of 18 y/o MacCallan and shoot a little pool...too bad NH did away with smoking cigars in restaraunts a few years back..this place used to be perfect for that.

I picked up my Lot 'B' (the 12 year) and a bottle of the pappy's 20 year last night. I am down to the bottom of the 20 and 23 that i bought last year so this was good timing. super small quantities this year all around, direct from the distillery. places that usually get 3-6 bottles are getting 1.
20 year is my favorite and the 12 'lot b' is the best qpr out there imo.
enjoy!
Last night, Knob Creek at Holiday party

Yeah I got the Lot B as well. Should be getting my hands on it next Thursday. Pretty excited. Maybe next year I'll spring for the 20yr.

Very nice list.
I have never had a "bad experience" with tequila, but there was a time that the mere smell of it nearly made me...

Have about 6 inches of MacCallan 25 left...when thats gone...onto the 18.
Tasted Macallan 12, 15, 17 & 25 today at a tasting.
