English Harbor 5 - pretty tasty
Tanqueray
Did anyone else pick up a bottle of the Makers Mark Cask Strength bourbon? I purchased 2 bottles but haven not opened one yet. At 375ml per bottle I'll open one at a small dinner party to share and polish it off in one night and save the other for the home bar.

It's 7 degrees here (feels like -10 with wind chill) and just walked my huskies for over an hour. Tonights choice was easy- hefty pour of Pappy Van Winkle 12 year.

Bunnahabhain 12 yr old. Straight up after a short swirl with an ice cube. Amazingly complex and satisfying. Has me seriously considering the 18 yr old available at the local monopoly.

Thought about it, but the price up here is prohibitive. That is a good price, though.

Ice cube in a single malt !? Ack
Not what you think ML.
"Short swirl with an ice cube" as in 3 seconds and then remove the ice. I find it doesn't dilute the flavour yet enhances the aromatics. Works really well with cask strength single malts and can help some other higher alcohol ones as well. Works for me.

Highland Park 25, bottle bought directly at the distillery, some 8 years ago, lots of memories related to that bottle.

For similar reasons, I am holding onto 2 limited production bottlings I bought in Tomintoul at The Whisky Castle.
