Knob Creek Belmont Stakes Edition. Can't really tell any difference from what I remember, other than the label. Good, but the 100 proof is just a touch hot for sipping.
High West American Prairie Bourbon over ice. Very nice, complex flavored relatively smooth maybe a touch sweet

High West has made it to Florida? Interesting, they are a Utah distillery.
Is the distillery up and running? Unless things changed, I believe they source their distilled whiskey from MGP in Indiana (and other places) and blend it in Utah. However, unlike other "craft distillers," High West is upfront with the source.

Giving our neighbor a little primer on Japanese whiskey:
Nikka Taketsuru 12
Hakusku 12
Nikka Coffey Malt
The Coffey Malt is simply incredible. A huge step up from the Coffey Grain, which is fantastic in its own right.

You are mostly correct. Their aged whiskey/rye is sourced from others. They make a vodka, silver whiskey (clear) and low aged whiskey Valley Tan in Utah. I believe they are distilling and starting to age whiskey in Utah, they have a new facility outside of Park City which I haven't been to yet

Nice! Looking forward to tasting the new stuff...High West makes great stuff.
Btw the worst offender of hiding the distilled source is Templeton IMHO: http://www.chicagotribune.com/...-20150714-story.html
They even had to remove the BS "prohibition era recipe" from the label. Also removed the "prohibition recipe story" from their website. Plus they add chemicals to artificially flavor the hooch:
"Kerkhoff said Tuesday that Templeton buys aged rye whiskey from MGP Ingredients and blends it with an “alcohol flavoring formulation” made by Clarendon Flavor Engineers of Louisville to achieve a profile similar to the whiskey his grandfather made during Prohibition."

I told her that that box was my payment for an afternoon of back breaking box moving.

Mneeley I really enjoyed both. I preferred the Peat, I think it was more complex, not overly smoked. My understanding is that they used Scottish peat for what is in bottles now, and what they have in barrel they used peat from Puget sound. I look forward to trying that.

Has anyone here tried Rumson's Grand Reserve Rum? I believe it is blended (from Caribbean sources) and sold only in the state of Mass. I've seen a few reviews touting it which made me curious. Goes for the high 30's.
