Cool

Haven't had Dickel since High School I don't believe

Revisit soon- one of my favorite QPRs straight and an excellent mixing whiskey.

I have to agree on Dinkel rye. My cousin had me blind taste Dinkel vs Bulleit and we all preferred Dinkel.

Nowadays a lot of the NDP rye out there (Willett, High West, Bulleit, Templeton, etc) is bought and rebottled from bulk rye produced by MGD in Indiana. So they all kinda have the same flavor profile (95% rye 5% malt). Dinkel does an additional charcoal filter, which makes it a bit smoother than Bulleit. Good for cocktails...I would not drink it neat regularly though.

I own both, and I probably agree - different though. The 46 has been on sale near me for $29.99 a few times recently, and was when I bought a bottle.

Side note, if you ever go to bourbon country (assuming you already haven't) Maker's does a really nice tour. It ends with a tasting then a walk under a Chihuly glass display in their barrel aging warehouse.

Agreed especially if you're using it for making cocktails.

Yes, I deserved that. doh
However, I have had both on their own, and in Old Fashions, which is at least 90% booze, so I didn't mean it to say that I've only tried it in that one cocktail. My mistake, but my opinion remains the same.
