The mention of Beam Company, ... well, ... just made me think about the standard Jim Beam, which is not my Whisky of choice.
The Knob Creek is very drinkable, i must say.

There are plenty of labels that fall under the Beam "roof". Beam also makes Bakers, Bookers, and Basil Hayden. Plenty of good stuff, and plenty of crap as well.

Maestro Dobel silver tequila.

I just had the diamond "Diamante" this past week in Mexico City. Really good smooth stuff.

I tend to find we drink/like similar stuff.

I'm not sure what the difference is, but I believe I had the Diamante in a restaurant a couple of months ago. The two guys I was with were shocked that a silver/blanco could be enjoyed as a sipper. I was never much of a tequila guy until visiting two places in Jalisco a few years back. Getting to taste raw agave, then cooked agave, then the product in various stages of aging was an eye-opener.

What made the Dobel I own a sure buy was that it came in a miniature guitar case that looks really cool. Smile
Last week after our hockey game a friend put his mazda deep into a small snow bank late at night (dark windy road and it was very icy). I helped him dig it out the next morning, then towed it out with our SUV, and got him on his way.

He bought me a bottle of Blanton's single barrel as thanks and wow is this stuff good. Had a small pour of it last night (again after hockey). Absolutely love it.
