In this case, a group of us were collectively shoveling out our cars when my next door neighbor walked out. The aromas from his house were spectacular. I asked what was cooking, and one thing led to another.

I was back in the house around 2 wondering what to have for lunch when the doorbell rang.

It's an amazing dish. While Seattle has some pretty outstanding seafood spots, I think they'd be hard-pressed to top the Bellevue SeaStar. And I live in and love Seattle and generally avoid the East Side!

HA! Likely. I'll admit that, since going back to busy days, my compulsion for cooking has diminished in proportion. Still getting re-accustumed to those wall-to-wall days Smile
South American theme offline at the Ledbury in London today:

1st course – Flame Grilled Mackerel with Cucumber and Shiso. I love Mackerel when it’s cooked probably and this didn’t let me down with wonderful crispy skin.

2nd course – Poached Pigeon with Black Pudding. I usually don’t like the texture of any protein that is poached, but the flavor was great.

3rd. course – Sika Deer with Beetroot, Bone Marrow and Oxtail sauce. Really great.

4th course – Crème Brulee with dried Apricots and Cardamon. Nice.

The food out classed the wine by a long shot today.
Walked out of the house around noon to head to the grocery store to pick up something to make for lunch only to find the store was closed for Easter! Totally forgot.

Luckily the Spanish restaurant next to our flat was open so my wife and I popped in for a little lunch. We went for a tapas spread of Spanish omelets, croquettes, grilled squid, grilled prawns, lamb chops and braised veal cheeks. All washed down with the 2004 Corpus del Muni Lucia Seleccion that was really nice. Not a bad plan b. Cool

Nope. Prices weren't siginificantly better than retail, and although there were some nice to have wines, none were got to have for me. For $75,I figured it was a good way to taste some of the wines plus the food was pretty good.

We had lunch at NYY Steak at Yankee Stadium before the game. Service and presentation were excellent, the food good, but the setting made it all worthwhile. Wine list is surprisingly fairly priced, but because of some ridiculous archaic law, you can't be served alcohol until noon on Sunday. We split the oricchiette as an appetizer and had the steak burgers. The burgers were done medium rare as ordered and they were good. The fries should hasve been better. Someone at the next table ordered the ribeye and it looked perfect. I'd go for convenience as much as anything else.
