A brat with mustard and grilled onions and sweet potato fries.
Dim Sum.
Made my famous smoked salmon egg salad.
Today, at Maison de la Truffe:
- gazpacho (an excellent variation, heavy on the bell pepper and served with a large slice of good bread topped with chèvre, diced yellow bell pepper and mild onion)
- rocket salad w/Parmesan and summer truffles
- scrambled eggs with black truffles
- linguini with asparagus and black truffles
and a bottle of NV Bollinger Special Cuvee.
Everything was very good. Scrambled eggs are my favourite way of showcasing truffles. It's not haut cuisine, but the eggs were perfectly cooked-- just slightly runny, still hot, with lots of black truffle-- and remarkably satisfying with the wine. A rich and wonderfully satisfying meal (and although I have friends who think lunch is as important as any other meal, to me it's still very decadent to eat this way midday

You're killing me, Seaquam! Very envious here.

I remember as a kid being really sad that I didn't ever have my tonsils taken out. The story was that when you were in the hospital, you got all the ice cream you wanted to eat. Oh well, I made up for it.......

Yum. I've always been partial to "Oreo," but "Cookie Dough" is a close second.
Leftover strawberry grouper with corn salsa from last night's offline. Unfortunately no leftover Selosse Champagne to go with it
Fried frog legs and NV Pol Roger Brut.
Finochiona, some Délice de Bourgogne, a rustic baguette and some Bouchard Val Vilaine.
Several friends and I enjoyed several orders of Stone crab claws for lunch today with white Burgundy.
We had a wonderful picnic lunch in Wallowa State Park, Oregon. A great baguette, Serrano ham, d'Affinois, (Chris Figgins sent us to the store.) and cherries from a farm stand.
A very good brisket sandwich at the Cowpoke Cafe in Lovelock, Nevada.
Leftovers. Sauteed flatiron steak slices topped with caramelized onions. Mild cheddar broiled on top. Kaiser rolls. Garlic mayo. Caesar Salad. Cotes du Rhone. Need to grill more flatiron. The leftovers were as good as the firstovers.....

I'm curious to hear about the food menu. Only thing missing on that list is some Micheladas.

They seem to be making a comeback over the past 6-9 months. I hadn't seen one ordered in a bar in years until last October on our way back out of San Diego from that offline. I've seen them bunches of times since.
I've never understood the Michelada..... A great Bloody Mary is my preferred morning pick-me-up. If I want beer, I'll have it later in the day. Straignt up!
