I've read this as well, but I've never, ever, experienced this personally.

Regarding the pine nut thing, I've experienced a couple of periods of perhaps a few days where wine was bitter in the aftertaste, regardless of varietal. Some time after an occurence, I read somewhere about the pine nut issue. I make fresh pesto from time to time, and would occasionally pop a few pine nuts in my mouth as a snack while prepping the pesto. I'm guessing there was some correlation, although this did not happen the most recent time or two making pesto.

It happens to me unfortunatly. We make pesto with walnuts now.

Sounds like a varsity esque meal. Personally, never had a better chili cheese slaw dog and coke than I've had at the greasy v. My dad was always a huge fan of the naked dog walking while bashing tech as he walked out!

An awesome radish, cucumber and mango salad made by my lovely wife! An amazing marriage of flavors. She adds fish sauce and chili sauce that give it a nice kick!

Leftover pizza. Traditional red sauce with sausage, onion and green pepper was one kind. I preferred the other with garlic, olive oil, spinach and broccoli.

The driest, sorriest excuse for Neapolitan pizza with prosciuto. Would never eat at that dump again. Lost my appetite for dinner.

I needed to go to school yesterday, so I went to Wingstop to get a wing fix - and DnV are now wing converts.

Today, I took Vin to Vietnamese (his absolute favorite), while Dom went with DnVsMom as we were all running errands. I had pho tai.

Chicken fajitas

Grilled chicken salad with avocado, poached egg and parmigiano-reggiano.

Burrata with roasted cherry tomatoes, basil, arugala
Black truffle risotto

Popeye's

Not working today, so I'm thinking a grilled lobster and a Montrachet will be in order.

Woke up with a craving for a hot pastrami sandwich. Actually, in my ideal world, a Montreal-style smoked meat sandwich would be perfect; but we just don't have that in SF. It is a $15-$20 cab ride each direction to the best pastrami I am aware of in SF, so we'll see exactly how this plays out.
