They played it, but thankfully not too many songs from that era.

Yea, I saw them last year with Earth, Wind & Fire...and they played it too..and yes, showed restraint with songs from Chicago 16 and 17.

The singer in my last band (before I got out of the music biz), Neil Donell, was close to being hired as Chicago's new singer last spring. It was between him and the guy they eventually hired. The Chicago guys are class acts, though, and when they toured through Ontario and Quebec last summer they invited him to sit in and sing with them at each of those shows.

He'll be sitting in again when they play in Toronto this summer.

Here's a clip with him from Montreal last summer doing You're the Inspiration.

That's pretty cool. The guy that got the gig, Jeff Coffey, is pretty good himself, and is a dead ringer for Owen Wilson.

Nice, VB!

I'm joining a couple forum members in September for the U2 show in Phoenix.

I'm gonna see McCartney in about 2 weeks Smile Sadly McCartney, Waters and Rod Stewart are all in Tampa within 4 days of each other..so since I must take my wife to Rod...I had to skip Waters as I don't think I can muster the energy to hit 3 shows in 4 days.

I was thinking the same thing. Three shows where everyone sits the whole time! Big Grin

Its about priorities! Not to mention crowd avoidance...its the energy needed to deal with the crowd for 3 out of 4 nights...not the energy needed to sit in my seats for 3 shows..LOL

Though since I'm used to Maiden shows, which one does not sit during, I might have to stand for these to the annoyance of the geriatric crowd around me.
Had great seats for the Bruno Mars show at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas last night. This was for the closing night party of the Cisco Live conference. He and his band played most of their hits over the span of 75 minutes. They wisely only played one ballad (When I Was Your Man), as the crowd was predominantly male.

As per their rep, BM and his band put on a high-energy show and definitely connected with the crowd. I doubt anyone left thinking the show was boring or a waste of time.

Is this a real post? Bruno Mars? This is horrible music. Do any adults go to his shows without their kids.

"Most of their hits" That was pretty funny.

Thinking I have to do it...and hope he plays A Day In The Life! Anyone seen it yet this year?

I might do it just to say I saw him live. But realistically, the last time I saw him perform on TV (I think it was SNL last year), his voice was just gone. It was pretty sad.

I was surprised to see on setlist.fm that he played A Day In The Life at Desert Trip. But other than that, the last time he played it was in 2012. Which makes sense, since it's a Lennon song. Sure, McCartney wrote and sang the bridge, but this is about as "Lennon" a song as you can get.

I think I would go for this song alone. My favourite Beatles song. But missing Lennon's voice would be tough...as I much prefer his to Paul's.
I think all of my favourite Beatles songs...Lennon sings!

Are you British?

If so, you don't spell anything else the proper way.

Not British...work with a lot of British people. And my spelling is top notch...save for the occasional type-o here and there.

Clearly that cannot be a top concern of yours? I like that spelling by the way...along with colour.

You always have an excuse, deflect well and are truly obtuse on your very best day. Big Grin

Congrats. Your president serves you as a fine example that you follow very well.

Why would anyone care if someone drinks young wine? Why must the president be brought into every conversation? I voted Republican...still glad I did and will not apologize for it.

You can still pine for Hill.

Clearly he has made you proud!

You don't have a clue who I voted for. You see my simple minded one, there are people who hold people accountable after they are elected, regardless.

Fair enough...enjoy the back and forth. Have a good night. I think there are many wise people on this forum and I look forward to learning from them.

Cheers
