I opened a bag of Counter Culture Chema from Uganda this morning. A very enjoyable medium bodied cup of joe.

Notes say stone fruit, cocoa, sweet. I pick up none of that, it just tastes good in my book.

That's for sure. Rather drink diluted bleach than Starbucks.

Aricha from Ethiopia. Another oddball heirloom variety from somewhere in the Yirgacheffe region, bought from Detour Coffee. Very good but not quite as flavourful as other Yirgacheffes we've tried.

Enjoying French roast this morning while reading a number of news reports. Trump's approval rating at an historical low at the six month mark, more lawyers now in the West Wing than personal, not a single significant bill signed to date by this president, the presidents own party calling for an investigation and supporting the current investigation and the president attacking the CBO even before their report due next week. All this as our GDP fails to move upward as promised.

Well, at least we have an infrastructure bill, a wall being built and paid for by Mexico, a healthcare bill that will not touch Medicare and Medicaid as promised. Oops!

Sunday has always been the best day to get caught up on the news.

Never heard of it. PH also told me about a different Peet's I've never seen. I pretty much just the Major Dickason's and Sumatra.

Back to Two Brothers Indo Indo. I bought two bags yesterday with a roast date of 7/18. I've been trying a wide selections of beans the last few months, but this one is probably my current favorite.

Kenya AA Rianjue from Kindred Coffee Roasters in nearby West Chicago. Pretty good medium bodied stuff. I had never heard of them, but got it via silent auction at a fundraiser this past weekend.

Newly-roasted Peet's Gaja Organic blend. I keep going back to the Peet's store near my home and asking which of their coffees were most recently roasted. This usually tips the scales for what I buy.

Trup telling the president of Mexico during their phone conversation, Mexico has to pay for this wall, that is what I have been saying for almost two years. Followed by, You need to stop saying you will not pay for the wall, it is making me look bad.

Found some Intelligentsia 'El Diablo Dark Roast'. It's pretty good.
