There was a beer festival in our town last weekend. You could sample by third, half or full pints. We drank the following in various quantities:

Admans, Ghost ship, strong bitter
Bexar County, Café Pequeno, speciality
Bullmastiff, Welsh black, stout
Greenjack, Trawlerboys, best bitter
Dark Star, Art of Darkness, bitter (BOTN)
Lord Conrad's, Zulu, porter
Mile Tree, Strawberry blond, best bitter
Red Brewery, White duck IPA, golden ale
Wolf, Granny wouldn't like it, strong bitter
I think there might have been one or two others I didn't mark down.

We walked off in a happy mood, indeed, to a very good Turkish meal.

Over the last few days, I have been enjoying cans of beer with the nitrogen widgets. Simple guy like me is amazed by the draft taste.

Specifically:
Guiness
Murphy's Stout
Boddington Ale

I also really like these cans with the nitrogen widget. Pop and pour into a glass and you have a very close approximation to a draft pour.
I've discussed it a bit in the Sour Beer thread, but even at beer geek bars if I have the same beer side-by-side, bottle vs draught I generally prefer bottle. Imports are hard though, you never know how old bottles are (most imported beers are pasteurized) and you never know if a keg was pasteurized or not (unpasteurized tastes better but spoils faster). At Russian River, I prefer Pliny the Elder, Blind Pig, etc. from bottle vs draught.

Also, most of the beers I enjoy are bottle conditioned, and that process never translates to keg. I've passed on Cantillon because it was on draught, my experience tells me that those kind of beers just show flat and boring from keg.
A Bell's Hopslam last night before going to Big Star for beer & tacos. While at Big Star:
Green Flash Double Stout Black Ale
Three Floyds Gumballhead
Lone Star
Anchor IPA
Revolution A Little Crazy

I got the Stout on accident (I was told they had an IPA by Green Flash), but enjoyed it and I'm trying to get more into stouts & porters lately. I have to say the Gumballhead was my favorite - I don't seem to tire of that beer.

I had to get the Lone Star since it was on True Detective so much, and I'd never had one.

What did you think?

It didn't do much for me either way. I didn't dislike it, but it was just kind of "there". Although it was the last beer I had of the night, and my taste buds were a bit worn out.

Nah - you pretty much nailed it. Unfortunately the "National Beer of Texas" doesn't live up to the lofty title. Ack
