I prematurely opened up Stone Brewing's 111111 Vertical Epic Ale. Very good! I like much more than 101010 or others than I can remember.

A local microbrew: Wasatch Evolution Amber Ale.

It's "Darwin Approved" and very tasty.

Avery Old Jubilation - tasty beverage. Enjoyed it.
Stone Belgium Stout - normally a Stone fan but this stout had some odd flavor in it I found offputting.

Good thing the Thais have great food, because their beer is pretty insipid. Wish they'd let me bring my own....

Enjoyed the Tucher Kristall Weizen today with lunch.

I'm taking off the last two weeks of the year, and drinking a nice beer for lunch in lieu of water or tea is much more enjoyable.

A beautiful sunny 60 degree day only helps!

I told someone recently this is what I most enjoy about vacation.

Erdinger Weissbier, with a wedge of lemon. The dark version is out for Christmas and is a bit fuller in flavour. Had the Hefe Weissbier today with a hearty beef stew - very tasty.

Dogfish Head Bitches Brew

This is a single bottle offering which is 75% imperial stout and 25% honey brew at 9% alcohol. It has a distinctly coffee taste to it. I aged it about a year in a cool closet and it is excellent.

Rahr Winter Warmer Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Winter Ale. Nice chocolate, smokey profile. Good weight without too much weight.

Nope. I like it quite a bit and it's on tap a lot of places around here.

Fighting a cold....Flying Dog Snake Dog IPA with Johnny Walker 18 shooters...Modern medicine at work

Bought a 6-pack of Badass beer when I was back in the Detroit area, and finally had one tonight. Not very impressionable - really just seemed like a Budweiser style...perhaps what they were shooting for, though.

A Palo Cortado Sherry was what immediately came to mind. Fino dryness with Oloroso flavour, though with a barley back-end that made it a beer.

It was interesting, odd and IMHO not worth the $$ (though I didn't buy it so...).
