Another one for wheat! Not a fruit in my beer person either...not much for it in drinks either other than maybe an olive.

blackberries add a nice floral component tho ;-)

I was thinking of brewing it with
lemon and orange zest and allspice.

if i added cocoa powder, I can see it being a porter with some nice spice to it.

Deschutes in the brewery and they are from Bend, Oregon. Quality stuff.

Deschutes makes great beer.

Thanks to PH's discussion about his local brewery... I plan on having lunch at the Portsmouth Brewery today...there beer is decent...typically prefer dogfish head however but it will have to do...I dont have time to drive to Md.

If interested..here's the link...doesnt hold water compared to PH's spot but what do you expect for NH?

Two totally different beers. I'm sure the shock would have been less had you known what to expect.

Sampled a couple of new Belgians tonight:
Castle Brewery Kasteel Donker - interesting, darker with interesting fruity notes and effervescence

Equinox dark Belgian Winter by Brasserie de la Senne - this is killer stuff. Highly recommended.

Dogfish 60 Minute with Chinese food

Last night I took a 60 and a 90 Dogfish...poured half and half in a pint glass...fanfrickintastic! Who said PH doesnt know his stuff?

Just picked up Trader Joe's 2011 Winter Ale. They call it a Dark Ale, on the lees, and best before 7-6-2016--don't think that will be a problem. LOL Haven't tried it yet but last year's was very good.

I've been drinking Pliny the Elder lately.
I just tried my first Citra, which was amazing.
When I can't find any Pliny...I'll open up a Hop Devil from Victory.

St. Arnolds put out a holiday brew I hadn't seen before - it's a blend of their Elissa IPA and their Christmas Ale called Sailing Santa. QUITE enjoyable, especially for the holidays.

I'm thinking a Three Philosophers and a fine cigar will be in order this beautiful sunny day.

St. Bernardus ABT 12 last night. Nice, but not as much as I was expecting.

Flying Dog Classic Pale Ale with a nice cigar...36 here..but sunny

Any fans of Beamish Stout out there? Will we ever see it again?
