Excellent, IB. Hope to hear back on your day. Awesome opportunity!

Ugh. Definitely not WINNING. I went to my nearest location of the shop, only to be told it was the one of the three locations not doing the tasting today. Mad

Oh well, ended up being a fun evening.

Monday is the only day remaining I can attend, so WILL be at the right location, with friends/thirst in tow. Curious to see how the bracket shakes out, and will try some of the top scorers from the last rounds.
Gulden Draak, at a Belgian tasting this eve. Everything was blind, but the steward gave me a peek at the one I liked best in the flight of six. I bought one to take home, plus a couple others from St. Bernardus, on the recommendation of a fellow taster who also had picked the GDraak. There's so much good beer being made, it's capturing much of my wine attention for the moment.

IB, a wonderful beer indeed!

You should make it a point to drink this beer in Ghent as you view the Golden Dragon on a sunny day. Cool
St. Bernardus Abt 12, which was the (unofficial) winner of a recent March Madness-style Belgian taste-off at a LWS. Absolutely delicious, but I like the beer it knocked off in the Sweet 16 round better, Goose Island's Pere Jacques.

FYI, the other members of the Final Four were Rochefort 8, Goose Island Matilda, and St. Bernardus Pater 6. FYI, Chimay Blue is the only Chimay that cleared the opening round (it won once).
