Going to break into my Goose Island Bourbon County stash this evening to watch the results on tv.
2013 Bruery Bois. 80pts. Most of their beers I've had are so expensive and overrated, usually a C- base beer improved by barrel aging, it's time to check them off my list.

Schlafly pumpkin ale. Damn I only have two bottles left

Great choice. This is the benchmark IPA against which I measure all others.
Hmmm. I like it, but the alcohol is too much for me. I much prefer their 60 minute.

The 90 is more of an Imperial or Double IPA as opposed to an IPA. It is a little "hot" for me, but nursing one in front of a fire ain't a bad way to go. I prefer the 60, and find it a very good session IPA. As I've said here before, if you're at a place that has both the 60 and 90 on tap have them pour you a 75. The best of both brews in one glass.

I wish. I've never even seen any Dogfish Head beers, in any format up here.

That will be remedied on my next trip north. When does it warm up there again?

Speaking of Dogfish Head, my wife and I are staying with some friends in the Army who live in Alexandria for a few days between Christmas and New Year. I need to remember to remind them to take us there.

I know the 90 is higher abv but for whatever reason it doesn't seem 'hot' to my palate. For me it strikes the perfect balance between the malt and hops. Only drawback is, more than 2 and I'm in slurryland.

I was at the Schlafly brewery last week and enjoyed several of their pumpkin porters. Delicious.

Oskar Blues barrel-aged Ten Fidy Imperial Stout. This is a very tasty stout aged in bourbon barrels. 12.9% alc.
On a separate note, for people that want to try dogfish head beers I have access to most of them. Just email me at justinhome at msn dot com

Grimbergen Noel.
I had DFH 120 last weekend, I think the 3rd time I've tried it. I was at Libertine brewery in Morro Bay and they have a good selection of their own wild ales and about 50 beers on tap when you include the guest beers. First time I had the 120, the bartender poured me a full pint!

High Water Sugaree Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie. Yes, it tastes just like it sounds. Only thing missing was the whipped cream, and no, I could not drink a whole pint of this.

I feel like there is a swear word or maybe inappropriate reference somewhere in that second one, though I can't quite place it.
A couple from Microbrasserie Goudale; Saison Walpurgis and Gose Town.
Gose is a very weird style beer. Salty and sour. I suspect you would just get thirstier and thirstier.

2016 Goose Island Proprietor's Day:
'16 BCBS Proprietor's
'16 BCBS Regular
'13 BCBS Templeton Rye (aged in TR barrels)
'?? BCBS Baudoinia (basically fungus barrels)
Loved the '16 Prop- the notes from FOBAB seem totally off base. The '13 Templeton Rye (previously enjoyed at '16 Dark Lord Day) was also amazing.
Picked up 2x '16 Prop and 2x '15 Rare from the event (was there with the wife).

I was at FOBAB, and it definitely sounds like the beer was completely different at Prop Day. It may have been due to the different format (smaller & colder pour at FOBAB than Prop Day). I'll be hoping to get 2-3 bottles over the next week or two.
I love the Templeton Rye BCBS...I wish they would just bottle that as a variant.
At Les Deux Magots in Paris (where Hemingway drank): Leffe Blonde.
Across the street at Cafe de Flore (where Hemingway also drank): Adelscott "Bière aromitisée au Malt à Whisky". It's better than it sounds.
