Last three acts of Otello.

What happened to act 1?

Not my favorite.

I tend to listen only to the acts I enjoy the most. Smile

Funny. I have a recording conducted by Carlos Kleiber and it has this funny footnote:

Warning: In the beginning of the second CD the first ten bars of Act III have been omitted since they were completely drowned out by the noise of an argument which had broken out among the audience.

I wondered whether you had a recording where a whole act was wiped out.

Paco de Lucia

I have to admit I'm not familiar with his music, however there is an amazing theater here that hosts him a couple times a year and in speaking with the owner I keep hearing how amazing he is. Need to catch the show next time...

VB, do not miss him next time.

I'm a huge fan on music from Spain and Argentina... check it out when you have a chance.

I need to get your T-Sip butt out of your comfort zone. Razz

Haydn, Op. 76, string quartets 4, 5 & 6

I was listening to the Op 33 quartets yesterday. I keep thinking about getting all the haydn quartets. Seems worthwhile.

It does, but like a complete set of mozart piano concertos, its hard to find time to listen to the whole thing, let alone remeber your favorite pieces without 'tasting notes.' But your right, after listening to the 'sunrise,' and being a lover of chamber music, I should have some more of his quartets and trios.

Wow - you listen to stuff with distorted electric guitars? Razz

Yeah, it's my favorite zeppelin record I think. I typically listen to rock in my car and classical at home. I forgot I had this on CD though and when I noticed it I decided to put it on.

Paco de Lucia

Paco is amazing...its that throat-clearing, chain-smoking, banshee howl that ruins flamenco for me. After living in the south of Spain for a couple of years, i am nostalgic for Sevilliana, with Feria season getting underway. Alas, we have forsaken our Feria trip this year....Frown

Next up is Some Fleet Foxes I think.

Bon Iver
The Head and the Heart
Civil Wars
Andrew Bird
First Aid Kit
Tallest Man on Earth

Check those out.

I love Andrew Bird (I saw him and the Decemberists at the Hollywood Bowl about five years ago now and it’s still one of my favourite concerts) and like what I’ve heard of Bon Iver. Thanks for the other recco’s though!

Cliff

That is epic. You may still be able to purchase..it is a dick's pick's (dead.net. If sold out, its possible to find a dead download site, but it will most likely be from the tapers section, adn thus low quality.
