Pandora used to be availible here in Canada.

I even had a hook up where I plugged my laptop to my sound system. It was great.

I loved the way you customised your channels, then let the music go.. The more you fine tunned your style of music the better it got.

What I liked the best is when your into a certain style and fixed on 3 or 4 artists of the same style once programed in your channel of Pandora they would offer new music of the same style.
Got to find lots of new and old artist I never knew.

Just walked in from a fantastic concert.

The Gypsy Kings just brought the house down for the second straight night before heading back home in the South of France.

When I think of all the great events I have attended at the Meyerson Symphony Hall ( Carrera, Domingo, Bach, Mozart, et al.) I have never seen the place with such energy and BEAUTIFUL women! Cool

The 1900 seat Meyerson is such a wonderful venue.
Yes it's ELP. Isn't the song called Carnevil #9 or something like that? Back when I was a cheese eating high school kid whose brain was mush from all the drugs, I thought ELP was good. As I got a little older I realized that rock and roll didn't get any more pretentious than that. Brain salad surgery indeed. Smile

I never bought any of their albums but I did see them live once. They sounded good and were quite the showmen, but I got tired of listening to Rick Wakeman's 30 minute synth and organ solos (or it least it seemed like 30 minute solos). I agree with you that the music does not hold up that well, but there are not too many groups from 30+ years ago that still sound good.

As an aside: I was at Costco and saw Simon and Garfunkel's complete works (about 5 CD's) for about US$15 and bought it. What I completely forgot (or was only aware listening to everything at one time) was that Paul Simon must have written 50% of the music high on pot. Really made me cringe as it seemed old, dated, out of place and time, not to mention trivial drivel.

That should have been Keith Emerson on the keyboards. Wink

I never saw them live though.

RE: S&G - just rip the CD’s and make a really nice compilation disc based on the old “Greatest Hits” album + a few extra tracks (later hits) and you’ve got your $15 worth.

I like them a lot as well. I haven't seen them live, yet, but I watched a beautiful "Golden" in HD recently and was blown away.

How 'bout the Mother Hips? They're my favorite band to see live.

Doh! That's why they weren't called WLP! I had to look him up, Wakeman was with Yes. Fortunately, I never saw them live, so at least I got the band right!

Re: S&G:

Good idea. I should do so and sell it on Amazon. I would definitely skip: Feelin Groovy, Wish I was a Cornflake, Old Friends etc fluff and schmaltz.

have you heard/seen the Okonokos album? Pretty awesome, though, I like the song selection from Red Rocks better.

Mother Hips hugh? I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
