I have been trying to ignore this but I must offer my opinion.
Ozzy- best performances Black Sabbath "Volume 4", "Sabbath Bloddy Sabbath" and the "self titled debut". He ruined "Never Say Die" and then took his ****ty vocals with him.
Iron Maiden- I prefer the Dianno era but I think Maiden was still great through Powerslave. Dianno was more rock, Dickinson was more operatic vocals and literate subject matter and the song structures became more epic. I respect both but Dianno was more fun.
Judas Priest- Heading out to the highway is a great rock song. The beginning of their decline though.
My favorite Crue song was Wildside, Kickstart my Heart was okay and I like Home Sweet Home only because they played that song twice at my junior high graduation, ah nostalgia.
quote:I like "when a blind man cries" best. I'm not sure if it was included in the original release of the album. I remember seeing Deep Purple being interviewed about Machine Head, and before it's release they thought "Smoke on the Water" was one of the weakest tracks on the album.
You must have the anniversary release because I am without that track. I guess Deeep Purple wanted "Never Before" to be their hit single, it's funny how things work out.

This will be unpopular with Sabbath fans but, I think Ozzy's first two solo albums were better than anything he ever did with Black Sabbath AND to commit further Black Sabbath Blasphemy, I also think Sabbath was better with Ronnie James Dio as well - but it's a matter of taste and it is a different sound.
Mob Rules still sounds great today. I'm a big RJD fan though. I think he was/is the best hard rock vocalist ever.

i agree 100000000% on everything stated above, with only a minor variation of, i think heaven and hell was a bit better than the mob rules. i also liked dehumanizer better than the mob rules. but i don't want it to sound like i dislike the mob rules. GREAT record!
warner bros is trying to put together a box set, sabbath, the RJD years, so they are probably gonna write a new song(or three) for it. woooohoooo!!!

Oh, those were all real good. I was just using MR's as an example. I was just thinking of DIO, and I thought of the song "Turn Up The Night".
That song has more jolt than a double espresso.

I think Black Sabbath in the 70's is a completly different entity than it was in the 80's, I do like both, however.
Ozzy's vocals completly changed. I think it was Never Say Die or maybe Technical Ecstasy where he opted for a more nasal/whiny delivery that I do not care for. I found his first two, or any of his solo albums for that matter to be dull. I can understand a different personal preference, I just can't condone it.

Cream from "Live at Albert Hall" (not The Garden).
They certainly haven't forgotten how to play.

i've heard tales of their existence.

the "elf" stuff is vinyl.

Earlier today, my 'Porgy & Bess' CD performed by The Glyndebourne Festival Opera. (1989)
I especially enjoy listening to it during the holiday season, although Gershwin is to be enjoyed at anytime.

Thant's funny. I saw the cocky ba$tard on the cover of a guitar mag lately and he did indeed look puffy. Maybe he will look like that Leslie West guy from Mountain one day.
