Sarah Fimm. I went to see Peter Murphy at House of Blues in Anaheim last night, and she opened. I liked her enough to buy the cd after the show. Peter was fantastic, too.
I love great shows!!

Just got it as a birthday present. Didn't really expect to like it.
I haven't heard the whole thing yet, but it's kind of hypnotic. I like it.
The Band: The Last Waltz
One of the great albums. Just got it on DVDAudio, 6-channel discrete surround. Like hearing it again for the first time. Exciting to listen to. Going to buy the video DVD so I can put the picture in my mind next to the music. Dr. John was great in this show (as was everyone else).

I'm with you on this one. I love the sound and the smell of rain in the summer. I used to sit on the porch with my dad when I was young and we'd watch lighting storms and listen to the rain. Unfortunately, now that I've moved to SoCal, I'm not likely to get much of that. Just landslides, earthquakes, and wildfires here. Oh, and lots of good wine.

"The Essential Mingus Big Band"
For any jazz fans out there, this disc is a must.
It's good to see another jazz fan on the board. "The three M's" - Miles, Mingus and Monk. Haven't explored Mingus -- yet.
Brighthue, Start with "Mingus Ah Um" and the from there Blues & Roots, The Clown or "Passion of a man box set. Then I would get the Mingus Big Band discs and see them live if you get the chance.
And don't miss the live sets, "Mingus at Antibes" and "The Great Concert of Charles Mingus." In-freakin-credible, both of 'em!
