I'm not sure if you don't know that TV on the radio is a band, or if you're asking why would anyone listen to that particular band. For the latter it's cause I think they're great, different, but great.
Cool, didn't know. I'll look them up. Back in the days when I listened to FM (I'm all Sirius all the time now), I'd find the local news cast down around the 88.7 range. Really disconcerting to only "hear" ads featuring Enzyte Bob.
indy, cool, like I said, I wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic or not. Funny I didn't realize how the band look written alone like that until you questioned it

Okkervil River - The Stage Names
Either my Sirius Radio or new CDs from Against Me, Steve Earle, Ryan Adams, White Stripes, Springsteen, Simple Kid
The Squires - Going all the way

The Road of Tears ==> Battlefield Band
If anyone likes the Great Highland Bagpipes, known by most as simply, "the bagpipes", take a listen to these guys. The piper is actually originally from Beverly Hills but damn, Mike is good.

Dancing around like a lunatic to my husband's pics:
Fun Boy Three - Our lips are Sealed
Freddie Mercury - Love Kills
T'Pau - Heart and Soul
Lindy Layton - Silly Games
Couldn't stand most of these tracks in the 1980's (okay, the last might have been from '90). But, somehow, these UK pressings on 12-inch vinyl on our hi-fi sound incredible tonight!

I happen to think this is one of the best (pop) songs ever written. And the FB3 version absolutely blows the Go Go's version out of the water. No comparison.
PJ Harvey---White Chalk
This one just dropped, and I'm a big PJ fan, but this one isn't quite my cup of tea, at least on the first listen. But, neither was her brilliant To Bring You my Love, so I'll give this one more time before a final verdict.
Very down-tempo, mostly acoustic, and PJ frequently sings in an upper register she doesn't seem comfortable in. But, then again, her music has never been about comfort, and it may grow on me. A very confessional album, and feels like one long song, broken into pieces.
If you're more than a casual fan, sure pick this one up, but otherwise, it's a pass.

And born in Houston.
Il Trovatore, Verdi.
Actually watching the Black Keys on Comcast's On Demand. Damn good show for today's rock and two guys that were in the lawn care business not too long ago. If you're a fan of blues-rock I highly suggest this and any other Black Keys video or albums.

Right now I'm watching the monterey pop-a-thon on KQED. What an awesome concert, would have loved to see, amongst many, Otis Redding.
