Awesome, isn't it?!

haggis - if you're not already a fan, you might like Ali Farka Toure - King of the subsaharan blues (possibly self-proclaimed, but nonetheless)

I have not listened to much of his music, but I have heard is excellent. I need to acquire some. Thanks!

Vanilla Fudge - Vanilla Fudge

Man, does THAT take me back!

I first saw them at the first major concert in Vancouver's new Pacific Coliseum (previous home to the Canucks) in the late 1960s-- Heir Apparent, Soft Machine, Vanilla Fudge, Jimi Hendrix, appearing in that order. The Fudge's organ sound and vocals blew everyone away (they kept us hangin' on Wink ) .

About a year later, they returned as headliners, with a pretty amazing opening act: Led Zeppelin! And a year after that, Fudge returned again, this time as the opening act for... yup, Led Zeppelin, who by now had established their great rep. It was pretty interesting to see the tables turned that way.

I have not listened to Vanilla Fudge in years (decades?), but still have a soft spot for them. Smile
