A horrible song indeed. In fact, I nominated it in the worst song ever thread a few weeks back.
Wicked Game is a great track. I like Chris Isaak (in doses) and am not afraid to admit it. He's pretty good in concert (saw him at the Orpheum in Boston - a zillion years ago). But, Fiona Apple, who had opened for him, is a dud "in person". Although do like one or two of her studio tracks too...

Cheers!

P.S. Husband has been playing with soundproofing in his hi-fi room tonight. He says I can "hear" better than he can. I suppose that is payback for the fact that he drinks like three thimblefuls of vino a year, yet has a markedly better palate than mine. Wink Smile

This whole speaker placement/soundproofing jazz was intriguing. It was like what I imagine a psychotherapist's test would be. "Do you prefer this or this? Anyway, apparently I helped him find the perfect placement. Big Grin

I find that playing Chris Isaak has the same affect on a lot of women. Big Grin

TBird, or Gigond Ass or Eric Cartman,

Are any of you considering picking up the new Slayer (new artwork is kind of nasty) or Iron Maiden.

Have any of you guys bought any of the post 2000 MAiden with Dickinson back on vocals. I had lost interest in Maiden but I have heard they released some solid cds lately and wanted to hear from some
metal fans with taste.

imo, it's been quite awhile since maiden released anything of quality, maybe as far back as "somewhere in time". dickinson is a pompous asshole, and their writing has become a parody of what they were.

that said, i get 99% of music free, and all maiden comes in my front door at some point. so, yes, i will *have* it. but *respect* it? i highly doubt it. i do wish they would prove me wrong.

slayer, however, still RULE. that is, if you once liked them, not one thing has changed. sometimes that's a distraction, but for them, i rest my head safely at night knowing there is at least one band i can always count on.

ps - mega dave buys his tampons at rite aid.

I only have the Dianno Maidens right now. I was considering Brave New World, the clips sounded good but they can never give you the feel of an album. I used to like Slayer but lost interest after Divine Intervention.

Mega Dave has always been a little tempermental, has'nt he?

Nope. I agree with Tbird's timeline on Maiden. I may listen to the new Slayer but it's not something I'll run out of the house to buy.

BTW, I have it on good authority that Dave also regularly buys crack pipes at a local head shop. Perhaps that explains the attitude lately. Cool

What makes me really sad is anything released by Motorhead in the last ten years. One of my all time favorites that simply started to suck with the 1916 album.

Sorry I'm getting to this late, but I haven't been around in a few days.

I love old Maiden, but stopped buying after 'Live After Death'. I have no desire to listen to anything new.

Slayer; I didn't care much for 'South of Heaven', to put that out after ' Reign of Blood'? What were they thinking/smoking? I stopped buying after ' Diabolus in Musica'. As for the new stuff, I'll probably check it out at some point.

Dave Mustaine still receives monthly visits from Aunt Flo!
I never understood, what Vinnie Colaiuta was thinking when he agreed to play on Megadeths' " return" album in 2004, I think. I don't remember what it was called. It should have been called 'Oh God, they're back'!

Hey spo, what about Anthrax?

This morning in rush-hour traffic, I had Accept - 'Balls To The Wall' crankin'.
