They're more popular in the US than you may think -- especially in border towns.
This may be heretical, but the Hip are vastly over-rated. If they weren't Canadian and didn't sing songs about Tom Thompson, the "goal," Milhaven, or Thompson, MB would any of us really listen to them? Probably not.
