I'll see your AA problems and raise you with United. Retarded is more like it. Totally clueless as to what a customer is or what business they are in. <end of rant>

that's truth too.

I have almost 2mil miles on AA but only a couple hundred thousand on United. Both are pretty awful. United was abominable last year. Hopefully they get stuff sorted out. But I've only flown them once this year and the return flight was only 5 hours late due to a service issue on the plane, so they're not off to a good start.

Steve, I'm confused. Are you suggesting people still fly United? Razz

Surely you jest!

Yea, I made the switch to AA this year after many, many years with United, but I grew incredibly dismayed with ground and air operations after the merger. I still fly quite a bit on Star Alliance, but domestically I have shifted to AA, although they are often equally infuriating.
Bitter, middle aged divorcees exuding surliness on every flight. Not only AA, but every American carrier has hags for attendants....their aging seevice labor force does the marketing department no favors. We flew Malaysia air a few years ago and even my wife was saying how smoking hot the flight attendant were.

Flight attendants here in the US don't make a lot of money, so it's doubtful they will attract that kind of talent. Brutal job, my mom did this, after her bitter divorce....no joke. I give her credit, she is very pleasant and intelligent, but was treated like crap by the passengers, especially the women business travelers for whatever reason. Worked till she was almost 70. Hopefully the service returns to that industry, until then I would rather drive.

Been listening to Everclear - Songs from an American Movie
khmark7-
I certainly meant no offence and I apologize for what must be perceived, after re-reading, as an insensitive and mysogynistic comment. Poor service is all too common on American flights, however, especially in economy. As one who has flown many times with small children, I, too, am an easy target....dirty looks, grumbling and out and out hostility are commonplace....and my kids are relatively well behaved on planes and trains.
