Tosca

Not sure I have ever embraced the plot completely, yet a powerful score!

Do you have a favorite act?

Not really, it's all good. Except for Butterfly, Puccini's music generally outweighs his stories.
Bach's cello suite by yo yo ma...this last week in the car for the commute, with my youngest. Since i have transcriptions for the prelude of # 1 for both violin and viola to learn, i was interested in what it looked like on the 'cello, so i pulled it up on youtube. When i did, my boy immediately bee-lined for the lap top, amazed, and so was i to see the power of what he had been listening to.

The only choice my lil' ball of clay will have is which instrument...I'm going to grab my Taylor and strum a few for him for more inspiration.

I love this record. I seldom listen to classical music in the car - you must have a quiet car....

Have you heard any other performances of this?

Allmans, live at the fillmore

Classic.

Sheer greatness!

They just announced a summer date in one of the premier southeast outdoor venues. Normally, I don't fall for "the latest incarnation" but the Allmans lineup now is pretty amazing.

What Duane would have done had lived longer...an amazing talent. Did they let dickey back into the bad yet?

No Dickey. Two guitarists are Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks (who replaced Dickey). Not too shabby of a replacement.
Not at all, at all...I've seen Warren play with them...his slide solo was cranked up, one of the best I've ever heard.
