Just received my Psychedelic Furs Original Album Classics 5 CD set in the mail. All the original tracks of their first 5 albums, plus some bonus tracks. Nice pick-up for $17. I really haven't listened to these guys for years (my copies were all on vinyl). It's so much fun re-living the 80's (well, sometimes).
Loved the first couple of albums. Great songs like Into You Like a Train and Imitation of Christ. They went downhill after that imho.
Bell Boy, by the Who
The Beatles.

I agree that they sounded like an entirely different group by the time Mirror Moves came out. They went from 6 in the original group, down to 3 with overdubs and "helpers", lost the sax, and lost the edginess.
The first three albums were definitely my favorites. Even so, I still enjoy the last 2 albums for what they are.
Stevie Ray, Bugs Henderson & Lonnie Mack.
Paganini's Caprices. I have to remind myself the hissing noise I hear when i listen to this is the sound made by my brain cells popping... As an intermediate violinist, I cannot think of how passages of this are techniclly possible to play (like in the 1st one, for instance). A more succinct dispay of musical virtuosity i may never know. If anyone knows of any other recording, of any instrument, in the league of this, let me know and i'll buy it. This recording by Perlman.

Funny, I've really been into Floyd lately...even moreso than usual. Must be something in the air.
I'm assuming you'll be firing up Rattle & Hum on St. Patty's day? It's kind of a tradition now!

It would only be fitting to play some U2 on St. Pattys!

Watched CBS Sunday Morning and they did a segment on Aretha as tomorrow is her 70th birthday. Got me in the mood too so she's going on the iPod as I watch the rain with my coffee.
