Well at 6:30 am I put the hickory wood in the smoker and slapped on 2 9 pound picnic roasts. We are having real Carolina BBQ. I rub them with Flubis' magic rub, leave them overnight in the refer, then smoke for 10 hours or so over hickory wood. When the meat is done it gets pulled apart and topped with North Carolina PIEDMONT style bbq sauce. Put that on a plain white cheap bun with some bbq slaw and you have heaven !!!!

We are also having my famous tri-tip nachos,(smoked tri tip,chips,2 cheeses, onions, jalapeños,black beans & cilantro) and home made guacamole, crab cakes, hot links, hot wings and taquitos and the Superbowl Cake for dessert !!!

Edited to add drinks !!! duh

We host a Superbowl party every year for about 15 people. We have the pool with the boxes going to keep everybody interested in what can be a boring game. We have a pantload of appetizers. I make nachos baked with cheese, there's a selection of cheeses, olives, crudites with several dips, chip and dip, pretzels, popcorn, an absolutely delicious egg and caviar dish I make, taco chips with salsa, pigs in blankets (the little hotdogs with dough around them), little potato knishes, my special mixture of cashews, raisins, and M&Ms (try it), taco chips with my homemade guacamole, and some other stuff I'm forgetting. There'll be 2003 Chehalem INOX Chardonnay and Pinot Gris Reserve, 2003 Tait Ballbuster, beer, soda, iced tea, and water to drink, with hard liquor available for anybody who'd like some. I'll probably belt down a Tanqueray and tonic (or two).

At halftime, we break out the catered food. We have a real good deli/restaurant prepare platters for us and we then stuff on that. Later, there's a fruit platter, cake, cookies, and coffee. I figure to gain 5 pounds today.
