I suggest we drop the monthly drinking/buying threads and just do a single, ongoing thread for each. It'll be easier to find old posts when they're in a single thread. And the decline in participation on this forum doesn't justify separate monthly threads. (The April "buying" thread had a total of 17 posts.)

Was there any Cramant available? And did they mention the base year on the Premier Temps and Les Terre Fines? I assume 2015 at this point, based on what Adrien said at the winery.
Will talk more when I'm back, but I tasted the 2015 bases that were opened for five days and the 2016 bases (for the NV wines), and my comment is to just buy them. Plus vintage wines, barrel samples, vin clairs, etc, etc.

Yes they did have the Cramant but I missed it. They had very small quantities: between 6 and 24 bottles of each wine.
And yes, I believe it’s the 2015 base in the NVs.

I hear you E, running out of storage space and piling boxes seems to be perpetual. I've had to decrease my drinking due to some health issues, which has only compounded the problem.
Sorry to hear about the health issues VInC.

Thanks E, working on improving the health issues. Same here re: more of a problem buying than drinking. I've shifted buying away from categories I don't really drink and have started selling of chunks of the cellar that don't interest me as much. However, for the narrower focus of wines that are of interest it's buy buy buy... lol.

I hope so. It’s a bit of a crap shoot with older bottles but ullage is very top shoulder or a bit below neck base so fingers crossed.

We did. The Mas de la Rosa was the best we tasted. Vines planted in 1906 100% carignan. Incredible.

Good call. That 2016 chard is delicious. Served it at my rehearsal dinner (the Element folks catered our wedding).
Went on a bit of a value spree at a local shop. Ended buying two of each, and I think all of them were around 20$ a pop (except for the Rioja which was 35$):
2016 Marietta Arme Cabernet---already had this...pretty delicious for the price.

Found a guy with a nice wine cabinet in his garage that he doesnt use as his wife stopped drinking wine. Has a Ferrari and custom Porsche in garage also. He needs more room for cars, I need more room for wine. He just wants it gone and is giving it to me. Bottle Capacity is about 200. My 440 bottle cabinet somehow has over 500 in it. That free wine cabinet is gonna cost me a fortune

I bought 6 of these a few months ago and opened the first one last night. I immediately went online and snapped up the remaining 8 bottles available in the USA. (A few retailers have the 2017.)
Elegant, clean and pure, lifted, delicious. And hard to come by, with a production of only 900 bottles.
A house. To be specific, the house my father-in-law built in the mid-50’s and that my wife and her siblings all grew up in. Her mom lived there until her passing in 2017. It sat in a trust since, and this spring my wife and I decided to buy it and keep it in the family. We closed today. There is a lot of reno to be done in stages, and we have two other places to sell. That said we’re happy to have finally decided where our permanent residence will be. It’s a very modest sized ranch but with a full basement and a windowless room that was once a fruit cellar. It will be one again, in a sense. It is also in a great town with tree-lined streets, a train station, good restaurants, a nice independent wine store, coffee shops, brewpub and a kitchen store with cooking classes - all within easy walking distance. It will be an interesting journey but really looking forward to being able to entertain there at some point.

Yup it was. The advantage of no shipping charges. FWIW the price was just OK. You can get the at the winery with perfect provenance for not much more. You just have to go to the winery or know someone who does. I'm planning on a trip hopefully in January and could swing by to grab whatever from them. Would just need to figure out shipping
