Give it at least 10 years. I've been drinking the 2006 recently which is certainly accessible but still just barely entering its drinking window.

Anatomy of failure. Between being sick for 3 weeks and the passing of my ex GF who many on the board shared vino with over the years the month of December was a complete blur. It’s hard to say exactly when it went off the rails. Through a combination of allocations, auctions, Costco and a Napa trip I ended up with enough cellar additions to make Sunnylea blush. Even worse my cellar consumption was close to zero so there was scrambling to find space. Im sure I missed a few in the haze Im still coming out of

Bomba, sorry to hear (here and on FB) about your former GF. I can understand why December was a challenging month.
As for the wine... wow.
Thx Sunny. Between her and my mom's passing last Summer Im looking forward to 2020. I seem to be well stocked for it

My condolences.
The cellar depletion failure continues. Went to Palm Springs Pinot Fest which turned out to be one of the nicest, most well run large scale tastings Ive been to in many years. The line-up of wineries was fabulous and there was abundant well paired small bites spread through out the venue. Will definitely be back as long as it continues to be that good.

Met up with some winery friends and brought 5 bottles for Fri/Sat dinners to work on some needed cellar depletion. One of the bottles was an 07 Donnhoff which paired amazingly well with Fri NIght Dim Sum dinner so I'll probably be chasing more reisling soon enough. Unfortunately was gifted 3 bottles by said winery friends so only modest success. Net result -2 bottles until...
3 x 2013 Juslyn Spring Mountain Cabernet - bought 3 a few years ago and they were so good they were gone in 6 months. Saw a 3 bottle lot on auction for $60 ea all in and couldnt resist. Probably wont last 6 months
Rivers-Marie 2018 Pinot release which always punch so far above their price point its tough to pass
First 100 point (AG) pinot Ive seen in a long time particularly at this price point and announced pre-release. I couldnt pass up a 1 bottle allocation. And since Im buying one might as well make it 6.

Condolences Bomba. I can understand the cellar depletion failure during tough times. Hopefully 2020 will be a much better year for you and one that you can enjoy depleting the cellar a bit! ... oh, and well done!

2002 Dom - Purchased from a local widow off a social media post. Passed on the Marilyn Merlot but directed her to someone that could help her maximize what she could. She had the inaugural vintage which is actually fairly valuable

Give credit where credit is due. But good purchase on this one, can’t want to try his 2016s
4 each of the Pearl Morisette California offerings, chard, Pinot and cab franc.
I think Im in trouble and looking for an intervention. Paolo Scavino coming to taste unreleased 2016 Barolo at my local spot around the corner. There will be 7 wines to taste including their top wines and available to order on pre-arrival. I dont know how they got someone from the winery but they did. Its one of the best tastings they'll ever have. This could be troublesome
Be strong Bomba. Keep it to under a case and we can help you.

Just say yes.
Very nice. Who was there from Scavino, bomba? One of the family or Riccardo, the "ambassador" who conducts the tastings at the winery?
