Good on you for the Chianti and the Julien Schaal. Why no 2015 poggione Bdm?

@steve8 posted:

Pretty much is the reason. I decided I have enough Poggione of multiple vintages between 2004 and 2013 and it's a wine that needs time.

I also just noticed that my post above says the San Giusto CC is 2016. They are 2018.

Steve, you're ok with the QB?  Have you noticed they've resolved their cork issues?  I love these wines when properly stored and there aren't any closure issues (I think Mimik and you turned me on to them), but I'm hesitant to purchase due to the cork issues I've experienced.

Yes, I'm OK with QB. IIRC Longboarder posted something about Roberto having switched cork suppliers about 10 years ago. That said, despite a couple of saturated corks I've never had a bottle which was tainted. I have bottles back to 2004 and the Montreal group has gone through a lot of 2004-2007 over the past decade. I've opened several 2012 and 2015 Rosso's which would have been after the supplier switch and those corks were fine. Granted those are young.

Thanks Steve. I may need you to take another trip to the SAQ for me.  You have more room to store wines for guys from ON right ?

A LWS small chain (3 locations vs. 40 or so for Binny’s) has been offering some interesting pre-selected mixed cases for easy pickup since the pandemic began. Each one is $199. Today they offered the 13th version and I finally bit, wanting to try some things I’m less familiar with.

Remelluri "Lindes de Remelluri - Labastida" Rioja 2015
- Justin Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
- Xavier Vignon "Cuvee SM2" Cotes du Rhone NV
- Cantele Salice Salentino Riserva 2015
- Field Recordings "Fiction" Paso Robles Red Blend 2019
- La Crema "Shell Ridge" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016
- Colpetrone Rosso di Montefalco 2015
- Averaen Willamette Valley Chardonnay 2018
- Margerum "Sybarite" Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc 2019
- Skouras Arcadia Moscofilero 2019
- Argiolas "Costamolino" Vermentino di Sardegna 2019
- Roederer Estate Anderson Valley Brut NV

Nice pick ups. Had the 2019 Skouras white recently and was pleasantly surprised. Good Qpr but a bit lighter bodied than the 2018

That was one of the ones that interested me, since I’ve not had a ton of Greek wines. Another was the Xavier Vignon, as they are blending southern Rhône Grenache with northern Rhône Syrah. The retailer in question is Vin Chicago. Great people at each of their three locations. Definitely the kind of business I enjoy supporting.

For sure the kind of business you should be supporting. In terms of your picks, the rioja should be good too.

Vin Chicago is great. I always buy from there when I am in Chicago, and am still on their mailing list.
