W+A assisted in getting me a bottle of '67 QdC (my birth year) this week and when it arrived today there was an extra bottle of 1999 single vyrd Barolo in the box. This truly was a pleasant surprise, as today is my birthday (which I am sure he did not know). Thanks again for all your assistance, and you are truly one of the good guys.

A stand up guy? I remember a few years back w+a was in ATL for the PGA Championship, so we put together a little off-line for him, greendrazi, Mrs. K and myself. Well, w+a trucked a '94 Araujo Eisle CS and some other wine all the way from TX only to find they were both corked. Feeling embarrassed, he promptly bought a round for the entire restaurant, which included about 200 noisy, thirsty patrons. Now that's stand up!

OK, maybe it didn't really go down quite like that, but I'll 3rd the notion - he's an absolute gentleman and class act.

IW, first, I did know your birthday was soon.

Now that said, please understand Texas law. It is against the law in our great state to ever ship a wine box with any empty space, so I was just being lawful. Wink

Have a great birthday IW!

kybo, it has been too long since your last trip to Dallas, and mine to Atlanta.

I still talk about that offline. What are the odds I could grab two bottles of wine from my cellar, and both be corked. Mad

Hope to see you soon!
Just for the record, there are a lot of nice folks that congregate here. Latour67, I must mention, filled the empty space of a recent shipment to me in a very generous way. Very unexpected, and quite a pleasant surprise. One good thing about people I've met here is that they pay it forward. Generosity spawns more generosity in the wine world. Or is it that appreciating wine influences one to share that pleasure?
I just have to bring this subject up again... to agree! After a few failed attempts to aquire some Champagne for a friend, W+A goes out of his way to procure a bottle AND ship it to me! After recieving the bottle and many failed attempts to get a total for the bill, I get a reply to my thank you email. "Lets not worry about the money, send me a bottle sometime". WOW! I just had to say thank you again and that people like you are far too rare in this world! Cheers to you!! Big Grin

if that works out for you, I want for xmas.

Big Grin Smile Wink

Snipes, I've been able to have a glass with him twice, and W+A is a quality individual, clearly with a huge heart, and one a lot of us can learn from.

Great story Vinosnob! I'll be up there soon. Wink
