My family spent last weekend in Atlanta over the 4th. We were in the Midtown area where we spotted Vortex, which is a burger/bar joint featured on Man vs. Food. My 21 year old son decided he would try the offering that Adam tried on the show.
It is named the Double Bypass Burger, comprising either a 1/4 or 1/2 pound beef pattie, two fried eggs, four strips of bacon, cheese and mayo. In addition, the bread is two grill cheese sandwiches. He ate it and then did not eat the rest of the day. As his dad, I told him no more of that.
Vortex is a neat place with a wide array of burgers and other sandwiches. It has a great selection of craft beer and spirits. Not a bad place for a fun time.
