Howdy!

I will be in Richardson, Texas on business from April 7th leaving on the 11th. I was thinking about staying in Dallas on the night of the 10th.

Is anyone interested in drinking some of the good stuff?

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a few great restaurants in Dallas? Ideally a BYO (if that is permitted in Texas).

Thanks,

Brent

Hold on a second.... Aussie Shiraz was the OLD Baird. Roll Eyes Big Grin I have a much more refined palate these days. I will be bringing Ontario Baco Noir, Ontario Vidal and maybe an Ontario Cabernet Franc if you are nice. Razz Big Grin

Seriously though.... we can do Bordeaux, Burgundy, Cali, Italy or whatever. Let me know what you are thinking and I will bring a couple of excellent bottles. Smile

Actually, you're the guest. It's your responsibility as the guest to pick a wine theme. Smile
Easy for me to eliminate Burgundy because I don't buy the stuff but it isn't for me to choose. What happened to the OZ thing? We are always loaded with Burgundy, Bordeaux, and Italian tastings.

WIML, wine+art and I have an Italian in Chicago on 4/16, which I think is preceeded by a Bordeaux on the 15th.

Now that I have invited myself and put in more than my two cents worth, I will sit down, shut up, and take my beating. Big Grin
We go around the horn so fast around here it's hard not to duplicate. In the past 30 days I've had 2 Bordeaux tastings, 2 Spanish tastings, 1 Italian tasting, 1 Rhone vs New World Rhone Varietals...and I'm sure most of the locals have done close to 1 each of those.

Otherwise...

Pick a theme! Anything works for us. We like variety around these parts so if you'd just like to flight it by declaration that works. We're doing something similar on the 29th of this month. Variety is the spice of life!

All that and not ONE OZ tasting! Don't ya think it's about time? Razz Big Grin

Big Grin This might actually be the first offline where w + a will have to go to the store to get something to bring. I love it!

Close, but no cigar. Razz

Not too sure what all I have, but know of the following.

1998 E&E Black Pepper
2005 Greenock Creek Corner Stone Grenache
1999 Noon Reserve Shiraz
1998 Penfolds Grange
2001 Torbreck Run Rig

Are we really doing Oz?

Sure.... Oz it is. We can add Syrah in general if any of the attendees don't have any Aussie wines.

I will bring a couple of bottles and am looking at a couple of the below:

1998 or 1999 Dead Arm (not sure what I have left!)
1999 Yalumba The Signature
2000 Rosemount Balmoral Syrah
1998 Penley Estate Reserve Cab
2002 Kilikanoon Shiraz Oracle
2001 Elderton Command Shiraz
1999 Grange

Any preferences?

Actually Baird, you should realistically view your role in this off line as an 'ambassadorial' one, and thus a Canadian wine would realistically represent one of our greater resources we're so proud of. Cool Big Grin

I agree.

That's it! I'm back to bringing Ontario wines. Does everyone like Merichal Foch and Baco Noir?

Please do. My gag reflux hasn't acted up in days now. Razz
