Finally some daily drinkers to pull through the system. I'll be getting the Pesquie as well, but also the Domaine Santa Duc Cotes-du-Rhone Vieilles Vignes. I had several bottles from a previous vintage when in the US, and it was delicious. Not to mention that the overall quality of Santa Duc's wines are quite high.
The Pillar Box Red is a great QPR for any Aussie fans. But I'll be passing completely and hopefully the next few releases. Vintage keeper full, offsite storage full, basement closet full, basement window ledge full, 4 cases in friends cold storage. Somebody stop me please!

I concur. I didn't have the 2005 so I had nothing previous to go by, but I thought the 2006 was thin and lacking substance, something I wouldn't have expected from a fairly young Rhone wine. It's definitely not a case buy for me, let alone 2-3 bottles.

On another note, I thought the 2005 Hess Cab was a decent QPR.

I also agree with the above assessment. I tried the Santa Duc and liked it a little more but was not impressed . The Zonte Footsteps Shiraz was the best of the three by far and IMHO one I am going to buy a case.

Anyone try the Pillar box or Taja Reserva ?

I also did not try previous vintages of the Pesquié but found the 2006 to be pretty good QPR for a sub $16 wine and was a hit (factoring in price) at the Holiday parties and preferred over the Pillar Box Red that was served concurrently. Haven't tried the Santa Duc yet.

The '05 Pillar Box was definitely more of a fruit bomb, teeth staining drink. The '06 is toned down a bit more, which I think I prefer
