Got mine too. The Galatrona is tempting. Maybe The Chocolate Block and an Oz or two. I'm also tempted by the Chapoutier White Ermitage, except for Parker's comment about it going into a funk for a couple of decades. Eek

The Chocolate Block is being released here in November.
Has the price been announced yet?

The first on the list was a bit of a surprise... but if I actually mention how many bottles were brought into Classics in the first place, I fear that you'll all tear me a new one.

Wow... very interesting list... thanks!

The Galatrona isn't that much of a surprise, I guess, if quantities are low.

The Octavius was only the 5th or 6th best Aussie on the list (IMO), so I guess this is a combination of Parker points and Yalumba being all over the place in Ontario?

The Latour positively blows me away... Huge demand at an $1100 price tag? Shows just how out of whack the supply/demand equation is in Ontario for Bordeaux.

It is going for $1k+ on the low side from wine-searcher in the States. Factor in the refund policy from LCBO, I rather buy from them instead of going down south. Don't get me wrong, I did not order any. I've got enough back then. Big Grin

Relatively speaking, the 2003 Bordeaux Futures were the last great bargain from a great year. I guess $495Cdn for the Latour can now be considered a bargoon!

You're right... I didn't realize that the price was actually fairly reasonable. It still blows me away, nonetheless, that a $1,000 wine can be the 3rd most over-subscribed wine. That means a LOT of people ordered some.

I didn't Smile I ordered when it was less than half - quite frankly I wish I had ordered more
I did well... full fill except for a 2 bottle limit on the testament.

Overall,
9/9 Kalleske Greenock
4/4 Kalleske Johann Georg
2/4 Kilikannon Testament
3/3 Chocolate Block
2/2 Bouchard Le Corton

I'm just happy that there were so many big Aussies in the release so that I could get all of the Kalleske I wanted... Probably my favorite winery in Aus these days (except maybe for Greenock Creek)
I'm more than a little upset. When I got my phone call to verify my purchase/allotment I was told I got my one requested bottle of Colonial Explorateur.
However, I just received my invoice in the mail and it turns out they shorted me.
Makes me wonder if they decided to hand it out to someone with a bigger order.
I'm definitely an unhappy camper Mad . Did this happen to anyone else? I don't suppose I have any recourses of action on this matter...
Did they charge you for it? I'm guessing they did because once they tell you you got it, they'll charge your credit card right away. Assuming they did this, I believe they owe you one because they put the sale through, even if they credited you after the fact. That being said, most people have picked up their orders by now so it may not be realistic that you will ever get your bottle. You should ask them to source one for you anyway at their own cost.
I just called them up to find out what was the matter.
It turns out they oversold that item, so they ordered more from the producer, but it won't be here until the new year. However they did credit my account.
Apparently there are letters which were mailed late last week to explain the situation. Customers who were shorted will receive another call when the wine arrives to make sure they still want it.

I've had this happen to me once several years ago, and they made good on what they said. I got my bottle(s) about 3 months later.
kind of off topic, but any input would be appreciated. Should I have any concerns having my Classic Order shipped to Sarnia during these cold winter times? Supposedly shipments to smaller towns leave the Toronto warehouse and go to a second warehouse (in my case possibly London) and are then broken down and shipped to the stores. Shoud I worry about the possibility of bottles being exposed to below freezing temps?
