I've always liked the Verite blends but noticed their prices really went up this year. Seems like I used to pay $150/bottle or so (maybe less) but they want $400/bottle this year (for the 07s). Seems like an awful big price increase.

Is this my imagination or am I remembering this correctly? Anyone know how they're doing in terms of moving this year's releases at that price. I'm sure the high ratings will help but still $400/bottle is very high.

Verite's pricing is a joke. Anyone buying these wines is simply throwing money away. It appears that more folks than ever are exercising their power to purchase wines from producers who actually appreciate their customers. Many of these out of touch vintners are witnessing an exodus like no other. Why would anyone buy Verite??? $400, $600, $350 or whatever. No thanks!
Technically their "new" 2007 pricing is a discount from being marked up as high as $700+ at the winery earlier this year, after the Parker score came out.

Naturally, general public didn't take their price increase well and Verite was grilled over many times on various bulletin boards and has "rolled back" to the current asking price of $400.
