the opposite.....champagne for Obama....anti-depressants, chased with wild turkey if Romney wins

I'm sure there are other Socialists who agree with you. Remember his talk with Putin when he didn't know the microphone was still on? I do. He's the worst piece of garbage this country has ever elected, and I expect he'll be leading us down the road to ruin over the next four years. We have never had an elected official as dangerous to this country as we are currently saddled with. Enjoy our demise.

I'm sure there are neo-facists who would agree with you Board-O. I, for one, am glad your thoughts are in the minority in the USA...gives me hope for your nation....
Also, for the record, Nixon was a far bigger "piece of garbage", and I won't even touch George W Bush.

The thread is called What Are You Drinking? not What's Your Opinion? Perhaps in place of the latter, you could tell us for the umpteenth time what the best vintage of Wine XYZ was that you've ever drank, that would be far more palatable to both Socialists and Tea Baggers alike.

Banana
well played. Big Grin
We get it Board-O....you have a cellar full of old wine.....

by the way....my celebratory wine was Roberto Voerzio Merlot chased with 10 yr old tawny port.

No fan of Obama, but do you really think he's worse than Nixon or Jimmy Carter???

I think EVERYONE will agree with that comment, regardless of how they voted or leaned...

I think you're right! LOL

Yes, CSM, I think he's worse. The country is as divided as I've ever seen it and the economy is tanking. I believe Romney would have helped the economy.

is someone from canada really commenting on how US economics would fare? ;-)

I personally don't see how Romney would help our economy at all.

Follow party lineS? Print more money
Follow personal experience? Ship out more manufacturing and ensure companies make profit but your workers are stuck.

Well, my opinion on Carter is that he's a good, well-intentioned man, which I can't say about Obama. He was inept, but I think Obama is harmful.

agreed.. my hangover is proof.
Had post election beers with co-workers at a local bar that kindly stayed open for us after closing time. Goose Island Sofie, and Upland Wheat. No drinking prior, was working. Both beers were excellent with good company.

I have a 1997 Matanzas Merlot that I might open this weekend.

This quote from the Colorado governor is hilarious:

"That said, federal law still says marijuana is an illegal drug, so don't break out the Cheetos or Goldfish too quickly."

Great line!

Sure, gmb, but I'm a bit politicked out!
"Truth, justice and the American way". Oops, wrong thread. That belongs in the "Things that represent Superman" thread.

I learned looooooong to not discuss religion or politics at dinner with family or friends. This election just re-confirms that mantra.

I saw the hand writing on the wall and moved to Quebec BEFORE he was sworn in. Moved back 02/28/81. Due to family issues, I could not move out before 01/20/2009. But my mind did.

Maybe this is a dumb question - but how would moving to a more socialist and liberal country have helped if you had moved to Canada before 1/20/2009?
Had several friends over (libs and cons).
Eventhough both political parties were present we all had a lot of fun, shared great food, opened some good stuff (in my opinion), and regardless of our political parties/affiliations and our support for either candidate we all respected each other.
Popped open:
2 bottles of 2001 Ch.Mouton Rothschild
2 bottles of 2004 Harlan Estate
2 bottles of 2009 Justin Focus
2 bottles of 2008 Epoch - Paderwski
1 bottle of 2007 Erna Schein - Blender Boy
2 bottles of 2008 Kistler Chardonnay Les Noisetiers
2 bottles of 2009 Sea Smoke Chardonnay
and for the big announcement (which we pretty much knew or alteast had a very good feeling about way before the actual announcement)....
4 bottles of 1996 Dom Perignon!!!!

Awesome night!
I even would have shared our stuff with Board-O Big Grin

Salud!!
