Grifone, Puglia - 2012

From old vines, soft flavorful w/ vanilla and blk cherry being the forefront notes. I love this as an easy-go table wine. Very light tannin, soft earthy dark fruit with a little smoke, long finish for a lighter bodied wine. Very approachable, not really looking for any time. Serious QPR being that it comes in at <5 otd.

Epicuro, Puglia - 2012

Much more poor-man Cali-Zin than Primitivo. Bigger nose and fruit, more sweet than dirty, much more upfront, cherry, plum and some citrus, grapefruit maybe. Bigger tannin too. Doesn't last as long, not for me anyway. There is nothing wrong with this juice, it just doesn't do anything for me; a 250-hitting utility infielder that doesn't suck, but nobody remembers. <$7 otd.
