Well, GA and I finally tried this yesterday. Our first experience with Saussingnac. Definetly Semillon. It was kind of a cousin to Sauternes. The color was a deep amber. It had a nose of toasted nuts and caramel. Flavors of hazelnut and toffee, with reserved sweetness. The great apricot type flavors I normally associate with Sauternes were missing. This was mildly sweet and not cloying. The finish was not huge, however it was pleasent. This wine lacked some of the complexity and depth I have found in most Semillon wines. I enjoyed this a little more than the others who drank it. 88-90 PR points. [Smile]
