Although I have been back from Africa for about a week now, I have too much work, too little time for wine consumption...but I managed to drink these wines the last few days:

Very short TN on two great wines

1990 Ridge Monte Bello: wow...a full, complex wine which is showing beautifully currently; full of tobacco and earth (dirt); easily last for another 5-7 years.

1999 Seghesio Old Vin: excellent zin for the price ($23), full of berries, really jammy, full of tannins, drink now till 2004

Agree with your notes on the Seghesio, delicious stuff. I posted TN's on this wine a few months back:

Unfortunately, I only have 1 bottle left.

Seghesio is one of my favorite producers of consistent, high quality, affordable zin.
