I haven't tried it recently, but on release it was a high-tension wire. Very, very dry and tart. If it's loosened up a bit with age, it could be a nice bottle.
Might want to pair it with a seafood dish that has a rich sauce. This wine should cut right through it nicely.
Petrol & slate-driven nose, not much fruit showing, lots of acid remaining, super-dry, harsh & sour. 85 pts.
This was tasted immediately after a much younger Riesling that was one of the tightest-wound, driest wines in the lineup. Even so, the Trimbach disappointed with its lack of fruit.
