Has anyone had this 2002 limited production (542 cases) red from the Porrera-Priorat region of Spain? It is a blend of 4 grapes and I hear it is quite good. Any info/TN's are appreciated. TIA
Hi IW, I like his wines, his Les Eres Vinyes Velles has cult reviews. However, I wouldn't buy it at it's present price from the '02 vintage........nor any high end '02s from Priorat. At these prices, it's worth cherry-picking your vintages.
A store near me had this wine on sale for $27. It is Gerard's first bottling of Les Sentius, second wine to Les Eres.
It had a nose of baked fruit and steamed lobster- yes, steamed lobster. The smell when cracking open a freshly steamed lobster was there. Flavors of dark fruit and anise are well-balanced by adequate acidity and moderate tannins. 90 immediately after decanting. The wine blossomed with an hour in the decanter. 92
